At the end of the summer term, the Eco Committee agreed it would be brilliant to grow our own produce on the school grounds by planting fruit trees. Last week, our dormant trees arrived ready to plant and the pupils were very eager to get stuck in! We have planted a variety of fruit trees including: apple, pear, cherry, apricot and plum, which we hope can be harvested in the late summer and autumn of next year. The trees have been planted on a strip of land behind the MUSA and the children hope they will also provide a buffet for pollinating insects in the Spring too. Watch this space as our next gardening project is set to involve wildflower seed planting in the spring.
