It was party time for the Blue phonics group this week! Having read the book ‘Jade’s Party’ the previous week, we started our party themed writing week by creating invitations to a phonics party.
The boys were delighted when Mike accepted the invitation and came to join in with our special phonics version of pass the parcel, complete with phonics challenges in every layer. The boys displayed great skill by recalling words with certain spelling patterns, reading sounds within a given time and reading words before the ‘bomb’ exploded – and many of them doing so whilst on one leg or hopping up and down!
