On Saturday a collection of creative parents gathered in the art room for the first time, to try their hand at Dry Point Etching. After taking time to file the edges of their printing plates, they selected images of wrens, a newt, owls, hares and kingfishers. Learning a little of the history of printmaking and etching, they embarked on using a ‘burr’ to incise their imagery and later, ink up to create a range of fabulous prints using the press. The standard was very high, and everyone enjoyed the time to and space to be creative whilst learning a new skill. Another workshop is already being discussed, we hope you can join us next time!
