Everyone who wants to has the opportunity to perform at Abingdon Prep. In a typical school year there are seven productions across all age groups. These range from the Pre-Prep Nativity to the Senior Section performing a musical or play which is staged at Abingdon School’s Amey Theatre with a full cast and musicians.
Recent productions have included Smike, Joseph, Oliver! and Animal Farm in the Senior Section, Daniel and the Lions’ Den and Dragon Days in the Middle Section and A Miracle in Town for Pre-Prep. The Middle Section also enjoys soirees based around drama and music, exploring performance poetry, Shakespeare and comedy sketches.
Pupils from Reception to Year 6 are also taught drama as part of the academic curriculum and senior pupils have weekly performing arts lessons combining music and drama.
