In unusually dry but crisp, spring weather, nine pupils from Years 5 through to 8 represented Abingdon Preparatory School in the prestigious IAPS National Preparatory Cross Country Championships held at Malvern School, Worcestershire today. The stunning backdrop of the Malvern Hills was spectacular and the grounds of Malvern College were a perfect setting for such a prestigious event. 50 prep Schools from around the country were competing and each race consisted of approximately 250 runners. The U11 (Years 5 & 6) race was over a distance of 2.6km around the ample grounds of the school. After the usual fast start our boys found themselves towards the middle of the field due to their poor starting position in stall 49.
