Year 4 has been discovering the art and patterns of India this term. Whilst including maths within our Mandala designs, using radial symmetry, we drew to different types of Indian music just as artist Kandinsky used to. Observing the differences in our mark making. We very much enjoyed creating these Mehndi designs, rolling out clay and incising into the clay using traditional Indian Woodblocks to create relief patterns.
