2018 has been an excellent year for Patience Kakitie, our Karate Sensei, at Abingdon Prep.

Patience is part of the Veras Academy Oxford which began the year by ranking number 1 over two consecutive days of the English Karate Federation National Championships 2018. Most recently, they ranked number 2 at October’s Coupe De Kayl Championships, in Luxembourg, beaten only by the National team.

Patience Kakitie will also be travelling to represent England in Shanghai in December.

Patience said, “I consider coaching, competing and inspiring my students, to be a privilege. I do it because I believe that England and Team GB’s future champions are amongst them. Particularly as Karate makes its debut as an Olympic sport in Tokyo 2020.’

2019 also looks very busy and we wish Patience the best of luck for Shanghai and next year.
