3 May 2013

Today all of year 3 spend most of the day studying the Japanese festival of Children's Day. This festival celebrated on 5 May is a national holiday to celebrate the happiness and respect of children. The boys made traditional fish kites, learnt about mount Fiji and volcanoes, made origami helmets and created posters about the day. Oscar's mum shared her expertise and brought Japanese sweets from the festival for us to eat. It was a fantastic cross curricular creative day.
