In January, we ran our House Charity election whereby several boys from each house were selected to give a talk on a charity they particularly believed in. Pupils were keen to nominate charities close to their hearts to be considered by the members of their houses when trying to decide on which charity they will support.

A group of boys ranging from Year 3 to Year 8 presented, via Zoom, to the whole school on charities which included:

Homeless Oxfordshire
H-ABC Foundation (a Genetic brain disorder)
Oxfordshire Deaf Children’s Society
Oxfordshire Mind
IPF Charity (Pulmonary Fibrosis)
Helen and Douglas House
Asylum Welcome
Dolly Parton Imagination Library
The Stroke Association

Each pupil in the house was allowed one vote and the results confirmed that Dragon will be supporting the IPF Charity, Griffin will support The Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Pheonix will support the H-ABC Foundation and Unicorn the Asylum Welcome Charity.

The houses will meet again soon so they can decide on the charity fundraising event they will run.

Well done to all the boys who spoke with such confidence and conviction, a really impressive effort and some wonderful personal stories.
