Today Year 5 set off for Portsmouth on the much anticipated annual history trip to explore HMS Victory. As has become customary on this excursion, the pace was frenetic as we packed as much into our day as possible to supplement our study of Nelson’s Navy.
Whilst some of the ship was out of action due to the restoration project, this did not deter our budding historians from gleaning as much information from the on-board guides with challenging and relevant questions. The boys were complemented on how much they already knew and we even managed to attract a number of tourists to our group when discussing the intricacies of personal hygiene and the use of the communal ‘tow rag’!
