The pupils had a fantastic time bringing their learning to life last week aboard the HMS Victory. Before the trip, each pupil had been assigned a the name and rank of a real life crewman aboard Victory during the Battle of Trafalgar. They spent time independently researching information around their crewman’s life – from powder monkeys, to able seaman, all the way up to the Vice-Admiral himself! The pupils stunned the volunteers aboard with all their thoughtful questions and background knowledge and behaved impeccably. A fantastic trip and a real highlight of our term in Year 5.
