With new raised beds ready to fill, courtesy of our estates team, our Gardening Club have had a very busy summer term. The children have been keen to ‘grow their own’, so we’ve set to work planting carrots, pumpkins and squash. Packed full of antioxidants, vitamins, and other health-boosting components, we know these veggies will do us all a lot of good but the children have also been thinking about the well-being of the planet too. We know lavender is a great source of nectar for butterflies and bees (plus it looks and smells so nice) so we’ve been busy planting that as well. Good job Gardening Club.
