French Day began with a fascinating introduction to the art, literature and food of France from Russell, Head of French, during assembly. Year 1 to Year 4 then enjoyed experiencing Cafe Francais. They took it in turns to be either customers or waiters at the cafe and were able to order food from the delicious menu of items they had learned in their lessons. Elizabeth was very impressed with how hard the pupils tried to use only French!
In the afternoon, Pre-Prep pupils continued the French theme, participating in a carousel of activities that included some very competitive games of Lotto (Bingo in French!) and creating their own pictures of the Eiffel Tower in the style of Seurat. A French story-time completed the day where we listened to the story of Cendrillon (Cinderella) by Charles Perrault.
