The festive season was in full swing at APS today as Christmas jumpers filled the school in an array of colours, lights and tunes. The pupils enjoyed their trip to the Gifts for Grown Ups stalls organised by our chief elf Nicky and her team of parent personal shoppers who were on hand to offer advice on the perfect present for a discerning grand parent or other special adult.

Fortified by a superb Christmas lunch, the pupils immersed themselves in a range of festive activities for the afternoon. Pre-Prep had received special gifts from Father Christmas and enjoyed playing with their fire station and tent before a fun game of pin the nose on the reindeer. Years 3-4 enjoyed a carousel of activities, creating tree decorations and competing in the Candy Cane Olympics. Year 5 got creative with customised Christmas crowns and cards before party games and food while Year 6 enjoyed a festive DT workshop, quiz and disco karaoke. Years 7-8 were not to be outdone on the creative front as they ‘dressed a friend as a Christmas tree’, had reindeer races, played a chocolate party game and braved the quad for festive aerobics.

With special thanks to Nicky and her team of JPA elves who have worked so hard over the course of the year and today to make the Gifts for Grown Ups such a magical occasion and to the APS staff for their creativity this afternoon. It really was a day to remember and a fabulous way to end the term and start the holidays.
