In Eureka Science Club for Years 5-6 we made mini airzookas, using old cds, card tubes, and balloons. You use the balloon to push the air out of the tube through the hole in the middle of the cd. The boys enjoyed trying to knock down plastic cups and blowing out candle flames with their devices, but the most fun was using a smoke machine to fill the tube with smoke, allowing smoke rings to be made. The smoke rings show how when the air is forced through the aperture, some of it rolls round into a ring.
