On Saturday a most creative day was spent by a group of Year 7 and 8 boys in the art department, experimenting with drypoint etching.
After learning about the process of intaglio printing and exploring the illustrations of Ernst Haeckel, and Jackie Morris we used filed acrylic sheets, to etch into using a burr.
The precise steps of inking the plate using scrim and polishing papers didn’t daunt our artists as can be seen by their astonishingly confident prints. Very well done to everyone that attended, for their attention to detail and creativity.
