On Friday, Abingdon Prep Debating Society held its first ‘Zoom’ debate. The motion on this occasion was ‘This House believes being ruled by a good dictator would be better than living in a democracy’. The motion was proposed by George and opposed by Patrick, both in Year 7. After some excellent speeches, both boys answered questions from the audience, before a vote was held which narrowly opposed the motion. The next debate will be held about the upcoming American Presidential election.
