In the first half of term, the cross country squad travelled to Cokethorpe School to compete in the Oxfordshire County Championships. Attracting schools from across the county, it is always a highlight on the calendar, showcasing the best young talent. Will had a fantastic race finishing in 3rd place in the Year 7 race and Arthur also had a strong performance in the combined Year 8 and 9 race, finishing in 13th place. With all runners finishing inside the top 50 places – the future is bright! Congratulations go to Arthur for securing a reserve place in the Oxfordshire Junior team.
The junior cross country teams travelled to The Manor to compete in their annual cross country meet. There were some brilliant performances with Josh in 7th and Tomas in 4th. Congratulations to the U8 team who finished in 3rd place overall.
Pinewood played host to a wonderfully wet and muddy cross country race for pupils in Years 5 to 8. The course was bathed in winter sun but the pupils battled mud, hills, and bogs, with one even losing a shoe! It made for a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon of racing. Special mention must go to Arthur , Max and Will for their top 10 finishes and congratulations are extended to the whole team for placing 2nd, behind a strong Summer Fields squad.
