Abingdon Prep entered the fourth Abingdon School Cross Country Relay Competition with an Under 13 A and B squad consisting of five runners from Years 7 and 8.
Over a fast, flat 2km course the boys ran in a relay format in very hot, dry conditions. Josh got the team off to an excellent start and was within touching distance of the leading team after the first leg. Freddie, running the third fastest leg of the event in 7:05 maintained our second position. However, Matt, Conor and Nathan all ran superb legs to initially put us in the lead and then to extend it from our nearest rivals Abingdon School.
This proved to be a really exciting event for all and bodes really well for next year when seven of the ten runners will still be available for selection.
