Before half term, a Year 7 team entered the U13 English Schools Regional (Oxfordshire) Cross-Country Cup event held on Cox’s Field, Abingdon School. There were 18 schools involved, with Abingdon Prep finishing in third place overall in the U13 team competition.
The course was a flat 2.8km circuit. After the first circuit our leading four runners worked together as a group moving through the field and picking off runners. However, towards the end Josh and George showed their strength over the longer distance and finished in 10th and 11th place respectively. Freddie and Matt were not too far behind to make up the first four finishers and scored toward the overall team position.
The boys are really excited about qualifying for the 2nd round of the ESAA Cross-Country Cup competition.
