Crispin Hyde-Dunn

Crispin Hyde-Dunn, Headmaster of Abingdon Preparatory School, has today been appointed as Headmaster of the Dragon School, Oxford with effect from September 2017. We offer our congratulations to Crispin on this exciting appointment. Crispin will be leaving us after more than six years of distinguished leadership at Abingdon Prep. During his tenure, Crispin has overseen many innovations, including most recently the negotiation of the change of transfer arrangements for Abingdon Prep School pupils moving to Abingdon School and an “excellent” and “exceptional” rated ISI inspection.

Crispin has asked me to share with you the following message:

“Abingdon Prep School is a very special place. Whilst I am excited at the opportunity which lies ahead, Lucy and I will be extremely sad to leave the community which has made us so welcome. Abingdon Prep has a tremendously talented team of staff, highly committed governors and an exceptional cohort of boys, whose parents are hugely supportive of our school. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here, working alongside Felicity Lusk as Head of the Foundation and I am looking forward to working closely with Mike Windsor over the next academic year. I am determined to ensure that my successor will inherit a truly vibrant school and that Abingdon Prep continues to offer the very best education for its pupils.”

Speaking about Crispin’s appointment, Felicity Lusk, Head of the Abingdon Foundation, said, “Crispin has been an outstanding Head of Abingdon Prep School and I have greatly enjoyed working with him as we've developed the Foundation. We will be very sad to see him go but we all congratulate him on his new appointment.”
