Year One had a day full of adventure at Cotswolds Wildlife Park in May. We started by the Park Ranger giving us a tour of the different types of flora and fauna in the park. We learnt how banana leaves catch the rain, where a cactus stores water, that bamboo can be used for all sorts of things. We laughed at the cheeky monkeys scratching their armpits! We enjoyed watching the penguins catch their morning fish; the meerkats were so cute and we were amazed by the huge wingspan of the Giant Hornbill. We had a real surprise in the tropical greenhouse where we watched a sloth hang upsidedown and crawl up along the ceiling, it moved much quicker than we thought and we saw his hooked claws!
