Reception and Year 1 visited Cotswold Wildlife Park as an end of term adventure. We explored the whole park with Reception visiting a secret rainforest room to become detectives, experiencing a range of bones, teeth and animal heads. Meanwhile Year 1 learnt about animals' habitats and how they have adapted to survive. The boys walked around the different enclosures and saw the penguins, meerkats and otters. They recognised the differences between the habitats, identified how the animals had adapted to their environment and observed the animals carefully to find more subtle adaptations such as how the teeth are formed. With a picnic, train ride in the rain and an ice cream to round the day off, we all returned home tired but full of stories about our day.
