Year 6 finally got to see the results of their efforts to grow copper sulphate crystals which had been started off before half term. The crystals can only grow in a solution that cannot have any more solute dissolved in it – ‘saturated’. They suspended the little seed crystals in the solution on a string and crossed their fingers that they would grow. All their solutions were well made, resulting in a bumper crop of beautiful blue, rhomboid-shaped crystals. Well grown Year 6!
