Year 2 had a great trip to Combe Mill last week. The children had a wonderful time learning about the Mill’s history and the area around it. The day started with a story called ‘The Wheel that Jack Built,’ which got the children thinking about how water power works and how materials change. After that, they got to explore the Mill, and the highlight for many was seeing the blacksmiths in action.
After lunch, the children got creative and made their own bird feeders using crack willow and weaving techniques. They also had fun with a pumpkin trail and went on a nature walk. It was a fantastic day, and everyone had a great time learning and having fun!
