Reception had their first day together out of school, visiting Cogges Farm. We arrived bright and early on the school minibus to embark on a magical journey through the story of The Little Red Hen. We made our own pots, planted corn seed, threshed the corn, ground it into flour and then made bread in the old Victorian kitchen. After this we went on a hunt for eggs, took part in the story of The Little Red Hen and learnt about how important collaboration and helping others can be!
We certainly had worked up an appetite for our picnic lunch and after refuelling we were off again to explore the farm where we met a variety of animals, finishing up on the exciting adventure playground. No wonder nearly all of us were asleep on the way home!
