The Year 8 art scholars were invited to spend the day exploring and extending their sculptural skills as part of a specialist clay workshop with Martha Evans, our clay teacher supported by the Head of Art. Using a particular ‘craft crank’ clay specially designed to support freestanding sculptural clay forms, the boys chose various animal models to work from. Observing both visual contours of the animal and the tactile shapes of each limb. We were astounded by the exceptional pieces created at the end of the day, from horses, hippos and pigs to baby elephants. A wonderful workshop with special thanks to Martha Evans.
