Reception had a very exciting visit to Cogges Manor Farm to find out about Christmas in the past. We made kissing bells from pagan times, cooked ginger pigs from the Tudor period and then moved into the Victorian era to learn about Christmas trees, cards and crackers. We also learnt about wartime festivities, making paper chains and snowflakes from newspaper. With a picnic lunch around the fire in the drawing room and a wintery walk around the fields we certainly experienced an amazing array of Christmas traditions.
