On Friday, one of our parents came into our Reception class to talk about Chinese New Year and what it means to her and her family. The children found out about the Jade Emperor who invited all the animals to take part in a race, with the purpose of selecting the first 12 who finished, to become his personal guards and thus form the Chinese Zodiac. The children also had the opportunity to weigh rice, make spring rolls, try on traditional Chinese dress and play Chinese zodiac Pelmanism. We love Chinese New Year.
