Once again our Carol Service this year was held in the beautiful church of St. Helen’s, Abingdon, which was full to the rafters, with around 600 people in attendance.
The programme was rich and varied and included our usual combination of congregational carols, readings, year group carols, soloists and instrumental ensembles. Our wonderful Once in Royal David’s City soloist this year was Rory Baker (Year 7) who began the service in the traditional way. Years 3 and 4 sang Walking in the Air in 2-part harmony and Jingle Bells with much vigour; Years 5 and 6 sang Rutter’s The Colours of Christmas with very clear harmony and Torches, which was stunning.
