Today’s assembly was about the enjoyment that can be had from volunteering. Rachel, our RE teacher, shared with the boys her experiences from her weekly visits to a wildlife Rescue Centre called Oak and Furrows. Rachel visits every Saturday morning for three hours with her son. They spend time cleaning out and caring for animals, mainly hedgehogs over the winter. The record is 39 cages and a fox in one morning. Rachel talked to the boys about how to care for hedgehogs and the other types of animals usually resident at the centre.
