Last Thursday, Year 6 set off for their annual ‘Bushcraft’ trip to Cornbury Park. Having been put into tribes prior to arriving, the boys’ first tasks involved each tribe building a fire on which they cooked their lunch, and the building of shelters, in which many of the boys decided to sleep under on each of the nights.
Friday saw the boys learning about making traps, enjoying some fresh water swimming and being taught how to camouflage themselves. Interspersed between all of these activities there was also ample time for the telling of stories and riddles and the singing of songs around the camp fire.
Boys also enjoyed playing various games in the woods and enjoyed freshly made food such as pasta bolognese and a full English breakfast. Pizza ovens were used by the boys to make their own pizza for dinner on Friday evening.
