Today we welcomed to our School a guest speaker, author Tom Farrell. Mr Farrell was here to present an assembly about his experiences as an evacuee during World War Two and also read extracts from his book, ‘Tim Oliver, evacuee’.
Year 3 and 6 gained further insight into this part of history as Mr Farrell talked to these year groups about his experiences and allowed them to ask questions.
All were enthralled by his stories of his new countryside home and many were inspired to further read about his experiences by purchasing his book. Thank you to Mr Farrell for a thoroughly interesting morning for the children and staff.
