Year 4 set off like intrepid explorers on a ‘Habitat Safari’, to Sutton Courtenay Environmental Education Centre. They took part in a day of activities learning about the local environment. It was a hands-on day discovering the wonders of nature, allowing the children to explore the woodland to hunt for, identify and carefully classify lots of creepy crawlies! A huge hit was the kick sampling in Moor Ditch (the little stream) which yielded all sorts of freshwater invertebrates, as well as a few bullhead fish! Finally, they became Nature Detectives as they found and identified a range of mammalian bones and tracks. A great trip all round!
