World Peace Day

Peace Day1

21 September 2011

Pre-prep celebrated World Peace Day on the 21st September 2011. They worked on projects the week before in CDT. Reception made Peace Mala bracelets which are made of rainbow beads representing all the different cultures around the world joined as one. Year 1 made Peace Doves and Year 2 created Pinwheels for Peace.  On World Peace Day we rang a bell representing the Japanese Peace Bell that is rung by the United Nations and had a moment of silence to think about how we can make our home, school and community more peaceful. We sang and song and stood together in the peace symbol. To finish our celebration off we let a sky lantern go with all our peaceful wishes. What a special moment!
