Millets Trip

Millets Trip

18 Septmeber 2012

Year 2 enjoyed their first trip this school year to Millets Farm. We met Helen and she told us all about the pumpkins growing at Millets Farm. Year 2 learnt that there are 3 types of pumpkins grown there – Harvest Moon, Racer and Gold Fever pumpkins. The pumpkins are planted by hand and are watered by pipes underground. The boys measured the still growing pumpkins. The smallest came in at 37cm and the largest was 95cm. We also managed to stop off to see the animals – the large bull was our favourite! The pumpkins will be reading by late October and can be bought in the shop for Halloween.
