Today the Middle and Senior sections of the School held their inaugural public speaking competition. The Middle Section (Years 5 and 6) discussed what they would do if they were Prime Minister. Among the recommendations were a total ban on smoking and more funding for libraries but the winner was Freddie Stacey from Year 6, who advocated a significant increase in cycle ways. The Senior Section’s debate was on vegetarianism and the competition winner was Rory Baker for his persuasive delivery on the merits of pursuing a vegetarian diet. The panel of judges included Jon Gabitass, Governor, James Hallinan, Teacher of History from Abingdon School and Matthew Barber, Councillor for the Vale of White Horse.
