Abingdon Prep fielded three teams at the annual Under 13 Prep Schools Quiz Tournament at Magdalen College School today. As usual the teams faced a mix of general knowledge questions, ranging from geography, science, history and politics to high and popular culture.
The A team, captained by Alister in Year 8, came a creditable 4th equal with 56 points, 6 points behind the overall winners from Summer Fields. Alister was ably supported by Charlie, James, James and Matty.
The B team found the going harder. Captained by Daniel with support from Hamish, Will, Oran and Alec, they managed to accrue 44 points.
The C team, made up entirely of Year 7 pupils, pipped the B team by 2 points. Out of 20 teams the B and C teams both finished in the middle order. The C team was captained by Xander supported by Daniel, Ashwin, Benjamin and Rory.
The teams were well supported by a small band of parents, who, like the boys, enjoyed the fine catering and hospitality of Magdalen College School. We would like to thank MCS, and in particular Barberine Mallett and Sophie Langdale, for inviting us and looking after us so well.
