Reception and Year 1 had an amazing day out today at the Cotswold Wildlife Park. There was perfect sunshine for meeting the animals and we had a very busy day with so many to see.

Reception began with a murder mystery to solve. We were detectives finding out about sharks, leopard's skin, conservation and handling real animal skeletons. The class were fascinated by the red pandas sleeping in the tree and whizzing past all the larger animals on the train ride around the park.

Year 1 enjoyed the penguins having their fishy breakfast, bats eating fruit kebabs (just like we made last week for our snack) and when the giraffes had their lunch we found out that their tongues are black.

A real highlight was seeing the sloth crawl along the ceiling upside down, spotting the new baby rhino Ian trotting alongside his mum and stroking all of the farmyard billy goats gruff.

After a lot of walking and watching, a welcome ice lolly treat was a nice way for all of us to end our fantastic day!
