APS took part in the IAPS National Championships today and enjoyed resounding success. Four boys earned individual golds for Kumite and Kata with a clutch of silver and bronze awards too. Three boys in Year 4 won gold in their team event and the school came second overall in the tournament. A superb result for our first time participants in this event and a reflection of their hard work and that of their Sensei Patience Kakitie who has now been invited to join the IAPS Karate Committee. The pupils were praised for their composure, maturity, skill and sporting attitude.
