Today Abingdon Prep hosted their fourth annual U8 Tag and U9 Rugby Tournament. Six teams participated in each of the age group tournaments; Abingdon Prep A, Abingdon Prep B, Chandlings A, Chandlings B, Cokethorpe and Christ Church Cathedral School.
In a round-robin format the Abingdon Prep U9 As won all five of their matches, scoring 21 tries and conceding only two. Although they scored more tries than any of the other schools it was their resolute defence that impressed. Wave after wave of tackles were made and they never gave their opposition time to settle. The U9 As finished very worthy winners and went one better than last year where they were placed second behind Chandlings A. This year they beat them convincingly by four tries. Well done to all the boys taking part in the tournament.
