Our 446 seat auditorium sits at the heart of Abingdon School’s arts centre. The theatre is equipped with modern high specification technical facilities, a large ‘apron’ stage housing an orchestra pit beneath, and projection facilities which include an 8m x 5m cinema standard projection screen.

Adjoining the main auditorium, our state-of-the-art pavilion offers a bar and dynamic contemporary space, ideal for functions and events. Demand permitting, it can be hired in conjunction with the Amey Theatre or separately.

Drama Studios
There are currently 2 Drama Studios located in the Arts Centre.
Drama Studio 1 was created in 2018 and is located on the 1st Floor of the Arts Centre. It is the smaller of the 2 studios, but is equipped with modern sound and lighting facilities and makes an excellent black box performance or rehearsal space. It is supported by a large adjacent classroom which is ideal as a Foyer, Green Room or breakout space. The classroom also comes equipped with AV facilities
Drama Studio 2 is located on the 2nd Floor of the Arts Centre. The larger of the 2 spaces, it has a capacity of up to 40 on raked seating and is equipped with modern lighting, sound and audio visual facilities. It is supported by a small classroom space which could be used either as a Green Room or small Foyer space.
The Studios are primarily used for Drama and Theatre Studies teaching to students and also play host to examination and several small productions throughout the year.
Ingham Room
The Ingham Room is situated on the ground floor of the Arts Centre, completed in 2003 and is adjacent to the Amey Theatre. It has a capacity of up to 60 people for a theatre style set-up and can be equipped with AV facilities depending upon the event.
The Ingham Room is also ideal for use as a Green Room/dressing room for the Amey Theatre due to its close proximity to the stage. It is also equipped with an audio and video relay to the Amey Theatre.
