Welcoming boys and girls aged 5 to 15 years.

Our junior sessions are group based activities, designed to give an introduction into the world of climbing. Whilst focusing on enjoyment, your instructor will teach climbing techniques and basic safety skills required to progress in this sport. We run both beginners’ and improvers’ sessions designed to target those new to the sport, or those wanting to brush up on their technique.

Family Science Club - Bookable once per half term

Based at Abingdon School’s Yang Science Centre – Partnerships Lab

Join us at the Family Science Club for a Saturday morning filled with exciting challenges, hands-on exploration, and plenty of fun! Designed for curious minds of all ages, our Family Science Club offers a unique opportunity for adults and children to work together as they investigate the wonders of science through creative, interactive activities.

The Family Science Club runs once per half term and is held in the state-of-the-art Partnerships Lab within the Yang Science Centre at Abingdon School. Each session features a new theme or scientific focus, encouraging families to discover something different every time.

Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult throughout the session. Whether you’re experimenting, building, or solving puzzles together, it’s a brilliant way to inspire a love of science in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Family Science Club is delivered by Abingdon Science Partnership on behalf of Abingdon Sports and Leisure. The Abingdon Science Partnership (ASP) is primarily a science outreach organisation supported and funded by Abingdon School.

Development Level Tennis Camp - Available throughout the year

Welcoming boys and girls aged 11 to 15 years

Based at Abingdon School Sports Centre

Our Development Level Tennis Camp offers an enjoyable and intensive week focused on skill development, gameplay, and tactical understanding. The camp is ideal for players who wish to develop fundamental techniques while improving their competitive match play.

The camp is led by Martin Butler, Head Tennis Coach at Abingdon School and an LTA Level 4 Performance Coach with over 20 years of experience at performance level. A former performance coach on the Berkshire and Hampshire Performance programmes, Martin has coached college and professional players from around the world, bringing high performance insight to every session.

A key feature of the course is the extensive use of video analysis to support player development. Participants will complete video analysis before and after sessions to measure improvement, receive progression videos and detailed feedback, and take part in guided analysis of professionally recorded matches. This enables players to learn what top performers are doing technically and tactically. Please note, to make full use of the video analysis elements, participants must bring their own device capable of recording video, such as a smartphone or tablet.

Abingdon School Enterprises & Rugby All-Stars Skills Camp

Our Pre-Season Rugby Camp is designed to help players prepare for the upcoming season in a fun, challenging, and professional environment.

Delivered by experienced coaches, the camp focuses on rebuilding rugby fitness, sharpening core skills, and preparing players both physically and mentally for the demands of the new season.

Players will take part in a variety of rugby-specific sessions covering key areas such as handling, attacking and defensive principles, decision-making, and game understanding. Sessions will be delivered through a combination of technical coaching, conditioned games, and competitive match scenarios.

Alongside rugby training, players will also complete athletic development sessions aimed at improving speed, agility, movement quality, coordination, and overall conditioning. These sessions are designed to help players return to the season feeling confident, sharp, and physically prepared.

The camp is suitable for a wide range of abilities, with players grouped appropriately to ensure sessions remain challenging, enjoyable, and development-focused for everyone involved.

Our coaching team has experience working across school, club, and academy rugby environments, allowing us to create a high-quality training experience while maintaining a positive and supportive atmosphere throughout the camp.

Multi Activity Camp - Summer holidays

Participants: Aged 11-12 years

This camp is aimed at our new First Year joiners at Abingdon Senior School.

Enjoy and experience a wide range of different sports and activities throughout the week, led by qualified P.E specialists at Abingdon School. Each day will comprise of a range of different sports, games and competitions to keep children active throughout the day. The programme includes a range of sports such as:

  • Hockey

  • Swimming

National Pool Lifeguard Qualification Summer Holidays

RLSS Generation 10 National Pool Lifeguarding Course (NPLQ) with AED

Achieve the UK’s leading lifeguarding qualification and gain valuable, real-world skills. The RLSS Generation 10 National Pool Lifeguarding Qualification (NPLQ) with AED provides practical, hands-on training to prepare learners for work as professional pool lifeguards. The course covers pool supervision, rescue skills, CPR, emergency response and AED use.

On successful completion, learners receive the RLSS UK NPLQ Generation 10 qualification, which is valid for two years, worth 8 UCAS tariff points, and qualifies them to work as a pool lifeguard in the UK. Upon successfully completing the assessment, there may also be the opportunity to work at Abingdon School Sports Centre on selected shifts.

SuperCamps - An affordable childcare option during school holidays

SuperCamps offers a wide range of fun and engaging activities for children aged 4 -12 years old throughout the school holidays, led by qualified and experienced staff. With flexible childcare options, their Multi-Activity camps are bookable as individual days or a week at a time, and with extended hour options to help working parents with early drop-offs and late pick-ups. As they are fully Ofsted registered, they also accept childcare vouchers and tax-free childcare as full or part payment.

These Multi-Activity camps offer an exciting programme of creative activities, team games and sports. From ball games and pedal karts to nature, art and messy-play, there’s something to suit all ages and abilities.
