Joe Stilgoe playing and singing at a grand piano

Unfortunately, due to significantly lower than hoped for ticket sales, Joe Stilgoe’s concert at the Amey Theatre on 8th October has had to be postponed. We are working with the promoter, Downlander Events Limited, and Joe to find a new date in 2023, and once details have been finalised the new date will be publicised. If you would like to hear when the new date is set, please make sure you are on the Amey Theatre mailing list.

Downlander Events have a number of other concerts scheduled, both at the Amey Theatre and at other venues in and around Abingdon, and more details of all their upcoming events can be found at www.downlander.co.uk

Joe Stilgoe is an internationally acclaimed singer, pianist and songwriter. He has created a fresh sound for jazz in the 21st century, known for writing songs that feel like they’ve been around for years, and adapting classics that sound as though they were just written. He has released eight albums, five of which have topped the UK Jazz chart. His latest album, Stilgoe In The Shed, which topped the UK Jazz Chart, came about after Joe started broadcasting on Youtube from his shed at the start of the pandemic in 2020. The resulting show Stilgoe In The Shed picked up over 200,000 viewers around the world, and led to this unique album, praised in the UK press and featured on both BBC and ITV news.

This concert is organised and promoted by Downlander Events Limited – for more information about the company and other upcoming concerts, visit www.downlander.co.uk
