‘Movement: Moving more for our mental health’ is the theme of Mental Health Awareness Week 2024.
One of the most important things we can do to help protect our mental health is regular movement. Our bodies and our minds are connected. Looking after ourselves physically also helps us prevent problems with our mental health.
Regular physical activity is known to improve mental health, quality of life, and wellbeing. It also helps prevent and treat heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and breast and colon cancer, and more

There are plenty of activities you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home. Alternatively, as the weather warms up, consider adding walking, running, or cycling to your routine. Small changes in your daily life can lead to significant improvements in both physical fitness and mental health.
