Updated 23 March 2020

Abingdon Sports and Leisure facilities closed due to the general situation with coronavirus.

We are trying our best to provide clear communication and manage what is a very difficult and quickly evolving situation for all concerned.

Abingdon School has decided to close its Sports Centre and the Amey Theatre until the situation improves. This is to help safeguard the wellbeing of the school community. Please be assured that this is a precautionary measure in the context of the government’s approach to ‘social distancing’ and does not reflect any confirmed cases of COVID-19 at the school.

Furthermore, following the latest government advice to reduce social interaction between people to help stop the transmission of COVID-19, we have now taken the difficult decision to close Tilsley Park as well, with immediate effect and until further notice. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this may cause you.

We will of course keep our website updated with all important news and announcements. As the situation develops, we may send out further communication. In the meantime, we hope that these FAQs will help with any further questions:

  • FAQs for Sports Centre and Tilsley Park customers
  • FAQs for Amey Theatre customers

As always, please get in touch if we can provide further information at this time, and thank you for your continued patience and support. Our [email protected] email account will be continuously monitored and a member of the team will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible.

Best wishes,

The Abingdon Sports and Leisure Team
