Formed in 2010 and originally a very popular woodwind trio, Cuillin Sound is now expanding and diversifying with new repertoire and innovative concert presentations. A whole new sound world is explored with the inclusion of alto and G flutes, piccolo, Cor Anglais, Oboe D’Amore, E flat and bass clarinets in addition to the standard quartet. Our core membership consists of four of the UK’s most exciting wind musicians, drawing together a collective experience of solo, chamber, orchestral and west-end playing.
Winds at Sea is a new Cuillin Sound programme, a one-hour performance with a focus on film and television music alongside some great classical pieces – all presented with the wonderful range of woodwind colours. Music includes Boccherini (The Ladykillers) and Delibes (British Airways), plus music by film composers Malcolm Arnold and Matyas Seiber, also English music by Elgar and Peter Warlock, and Spanish music by Manuel de Falla.
Tickets on sale from 1 August.
