Charles Dickens’ classic tale is retold by playwright Neil Bartlett, following the journey of Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly money lender who has spent his life deliberately pushing away everyone close to him in his pursuit of money, following a childhood spent in solitude and debt. On Christmas Eve 1840, he has a vision of his late business partner, Jacob Marley who visits, wrapped in chains to warn him to change his ways or suffer eternal torture. Marley says that Scrooge will be visited by three spirits; ghosts of Christmas past, present and future. In turn, they show him the mistakes of his past and present, and the future implications for both himself and those around him, including his long-suffering employee Bob Cratchit and his ailing son, Tiny Tim. Can Ebenezer realise the error of his ways and make amends before it is too late? Bah Humbug!

Stars, snow, and sprouts adorn the stage of the Amey Theatre in this sometimes harrowing, sometimes heart-warming Victorian fable performed by 24 of our most talented students. With music, dance and puppetry, this production promises to entertain.
