Cricket training aid (Specifically for catching)
Above is my final design for my GCSE DT project. In the end, I was
relaHvely happy with the end-‐product as I believe that there is
currently a gap in the market for a training-‐aid like this one. The
benefits of this design are that it is hollow and so is lightweight and can
be easily transported. To add to this, it benefits from wheels and the
strips of nylon on the front surface of the design give the ball an
accurate path to follow, resulHng in a pracHcal and beneficial aid. The
inclusion of these nylon strips also give the item some sustainability
and although this product was originally intended for cricket use only, it
could now be extended to uses in other sports such as hockey.
Throughout this process, I have learnt many new skills both pracHcally
in the workshop and also technically on the computer soLware. I have
discovered many new processes and how to efficiently produce a
product within a set Hme-‐frame. Although I have found this task
challenging to complete in Hme, as well as make it as beneficial as
possible, I feel that I have achieved a sound project.
