Jasper GOODER
Contemporary Bedside Table
I am very happy with this design, because when I completed it I felt
a real sense triumph. At first, I stuck 3 pieces of plywood together
and cut them to even length and width. To make it the shape I
wanted I had to put it into the bag press machine, (shown on the
top right). When this was done and a base was added I had to put in
the intersecJng column.
AKer this I had to make the aluminum legs, which was the trickiest
part. It was the trickiest part, because not only did I have to cut
them (middle picture on the right), but I had to make them smooth
and without scratches. I couldn’t have a bare aluminum boMom, as
if the table was put on a hard surface it would have scratched the
surface, when moved. In order to fix this problem I made some
plywood boMom parts to the legs to avoid it. As you can see in the
main picture, I have put it in my bedroom and I feel that it
complements the surroundings very well.
